Summary

The purpose of the Intercultural Adjustment Potential Scale (ICAPS) is to predict the degree of difficulty a person will have in adjusting to a new culture. Secondarily the ICAPS seeks to describe the aspects of their mental processes and the interpersonal skills that result from them that lead to ease or difficulty in intercultural adjustment. The ICAPS is intended to help individuals have the option of choosing to remain the same or to alter their patterns of thinking and interacting so that they may adjust more easily to a new culture.
